Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 16, 2026

🔒 Your images are NEVER uploaded to any server. All compression happens 100% inside your browser. We cannot see, access, or store your files.

1. Overview

CompressTo200KB.com ("we", "our", or "the Service") is a free, browser-based image compression tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Because our tool processes images entirely on your device using the HTML5 Canvas API, we have no technical ability to access your images.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or process:

• Your images or any files you upload to the tool
• The content of your compressed images
• Any personally identifiable information from your images (such as EXIF data, GPS location, or metadata)
• Passwords, payment information, or account credentials (we have no accounts)

3. Information We May Collect Automatically

Like most websites, we may collect standard web analytics data through third-party services (such as Google Analytics), including:

• Pages visited and time spent on the site
• Browser type and operating system
• Referring website
• General geographic location (country/city level, not precise location)
• Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)

This data is aggregated and anonymized. It is used solely to understand how visitors use the site and to improve the service. It does not include any image content.

4. How Your Images Are Processed

When you use our compression tool:

1. You select an image file from your device.
2. Your browser reads the file locally using the JavaScript File API.
3. The image is drawn onto an HTML5 Canvas element in your browser's memory.
4. The Canvas API re-encodes the image at an optimized quality level.
5. The compressed file is made available for download directly in your browser.
6. No data is sent to our servers at any point in this process.

5. Cookies

We may use essential cookies to ensure the website functions correctly. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. If we use Google Analytics, it may set its own cookies in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Third-Party Services

Our website may be hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs including IP addresses for security and performance purposes, in accordance with Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

7. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
